what is social justice and social equity?

please put this in concise way that i can understand.
nb:wikipedia isn't much help

Social refers to people, society, etc.

Equity is similar to equality; however, equity usually means that everyone gets what's right for them, while equality implies that everyone gets the same thing.

Social Justice and social equity are closely linked; depending on who you talk to, they might be considered the same thing. Social Justice is doing the right thing for everyone, not just the majority groups.

Social justice lobbying for and achieving fair outcomes in society. For example, when a business backs a particular issue - say equal employment for men and women, or helping the homeless to find housing - then they are said to be trying to achieve social justice.

On the other hand, social equity is trying to achieve equitable outcomes for all people. This is an entirely different issue to equality. It means achieving a fair outcome for all people. However, because everyone is different, treating them the same in all situations may not necessarily be fair.

The term “social justice” was first used in 1840 by a Sicilian priest, Luigi Taparelli d’Azeglio, and given prominence by Antonio Rosmini–Serbati in La Costitutione Civile Secondo la Giustizia Sociale in 1848.
It is an ideal condition in which all members of a society have the same basic rights, security, opportunities, obligations and social benefits. * Social legislation: Laws aimed at promoting the social functioning of individuals and groups and at protecting their rights.
Social Justice is a concept that has fascinated philosophers ever since Plato rebuked the young Sophist, Thrasymachus, for asserting that justice was whatever the strongest decided it would be. In The Republic, Plato formalised the argument that an ideal state would rest on four virtues: wisdom, courage, moderation, and justice.

The concept of social equity is used at Shippensburg University to refer to a set of standards which apply to our personal and social relationships with other individuals and/or groups. These standards consist of a bundle of rights and duties which apply to members of certain "protected classes" in society.
These protected classes are defined by state and federal law, and categories of classes include: race, color, national origin, religion, creed, gender (sex), age, disability and veteran's status. These groups have been designated as protected because of certain injustices which have occurred against the members of these groups in the past and present. Social equity is the means used to help to redress these injuries. The term also covers the protection of certain fundamental rights which we all enjoy as citizens of a free society.
